Privacy Policy
Caché is a bookmarks app. It is built to keep your links on your devices. The developer does not run servers for Caché, and does not collect, sell or share your data.
What Caché stores
Links you save, with their titles, notes, tags, collections and preview images, are stored on your device.
If you turn on iCloud Sync (Caché Pro), your library is also stored in your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. The developer cannot see data in your private iCloud account. Preview images are not synced.
Loading link previews
To show a title and image for a link, Caché contacts the website the link points to, the same way a browser would. For some sites it asks the site’s public preview service instead, and sends that service the link:
- TikTok, Vimeo, Dailymotion, SoundCloud, Spotify and Flickr (oEmbed endpoints)
- YouTube (thumbnail images from
i.ytimg.com)
These requests contain only the link and standard network information, such as your IP address. Each site handles them under its own privacy policy. Caché does not send cookies or account details with them.
Safari tabs
If you use the Caché Tabs Safari extension, it reads the titles and addresses of your open tabs only when you open it, and passes them to the Caché app on your device.
Private items
Links and collections marked private are hidden until you unlock them with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. With iCloud Sync on, they sync like the rest of your library and stay locked on each device. Caché never receives your biometric data. Apple handles that.
Purchases
Caché Pro is a subscription sold through the App Store, including its free trial. Apple processes payments and manages renewals and cancellations. Caché only receives confirmation of whether your subscription is active. It never receives your payment details.
Analytics and advertising
Caché contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Deleting your data
Deleting a link removes it from Caché. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. You can remove Caché’s iCloud data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
